In this self-paced workshop, go from set-up and basic cuts to the creation and production of your own designs including welded and layered cuts. Each week you’ll get two video lessons with the first one showing detailed how-tos for using your Silhouette and the second showing the creative process of working with those cuts you’re making. Every Friday you’ll get free cutting files, resources and an assignment.

Students enrolling in this class should have access to a Silhouette personal die-cutting machine, Silhouette Studio software and an inkjet printer capable of printing at 8 ½” x 11” size.  This class is compatible with the Silhouette Cameo, the Silhouette SD and the Silhouette Portrait.  The instructor uses the Silhouette Cameo but techniques can be completed on other Silhouette die-cutting machines.

In this class you will learn how to get the most from your die-cutting machine and Silhouette Studio software through video tutorials, pdf lessons, pre-recorded webinars and sample Silhouette ‘cut’ files.  This class will cover all the basic functions you need to unlock the creative potential beneath the technology, plus inspire you to take your machine to a new level of use.  With the class forum you will also have plenty of opportunity to ask Amanda all of your questions, so you will never feel left alone as you navigate your die-cut machine.

Students will receive 12 lessons including 9 video lessons, 9 accompanying pdf handouts, pre-recorded webinars, free Silhouette Studio files, additional lessons containing extra learning resources. Plus you will have access to a private class forum and gallery to ask questions, provide support to other students and share the many creations you will be able to make during the class. 

In this class you will learn how to:

• navigate Silhouette Studio and make the most of basic features
• organise your files in the Silhouette Studio library
• optimise settings to obtain best cutting results
• use basic printing and cutting functions and registration marks
• create your own basic designs and cutting files
• manipulate, alter and add to purchased cutting files
• weld images and text to create personalised designs
• plan and cut your designs to save time and supplies
• scale, align and replicate designs
• use die-cuts in your projects in interesting ways

Lessons will be posted every Monday, Wednesday and Friday over the course of four weeks.  Amanda will hold your hand through the process of learning your Silhouette machine and accompanying software to completing a layout with the beautiful die-cuts you create.
